IMy Home

Hi, I’m Cat.

I renovate homes for a living — and I built this site to tell you what to actually buy.

A home renovation workspace with tools and materials

Catherine (Cat) Vizcaino is the founder of I Heart My Home and the owner of a home-renovation company. She has spent years selecting, installing, and living with furniture, fixtures, hardware, and decor on real job sites — the kind of hands-on experience that tells you which $180 dresser outlasts the $600 one and which trendy finish chips the first time a kid runs a toy car across it. On I Heart My Home she brings that renovator's eye to Amazon: honest picks, real pros and cons, and the buying advice she gives her own clients.

Why I started I Heart My Home

On a job site you learn fast which products are worth the money. You watch a $600 dresser wobble on delivery and a $180 one shrug off a full remodel. You see the cabinet pulls that strip on the second install and the faucet that drips within a year. Friends and clients kept asking me the same question: “What would you buy?” I Heart My Home is my answer, written down — the decor, furniture, fixtures, and hardware I’d put in my own home, and why.

How I choose products

Every pick starts with the same three questions I ask on a job: Will it hold up? Is it well made? Is it worth the money? Where I’ve installed or lived with a product, I tell you exactly what I saw. Where a recommendation is based on research and verified buyer feedback instead of hands-on use, I say that too — I never claim to have tested something I haven’t. You can read the full breakdown in my editorial policy.

How the site makes money

I Heart My Home earns affiliate commission when you buy through the Amazon links here, at no extra cost to you. That funding never changes my picks — if the cheaper option is the better buy, it goes first. Here’s the full affiliate disclosure.
